Michael Semo

Michael Semo is the Associate Vice President of External Sourcing at Eli Lilly and Company, where they provide strategic and operational leadership for sourcing medicines. With a robust background in pharmaceutical CMC, they have successfully managed partnerships and integrated external capabilities to enhance drug development processes. Michael previously held several key roles at Lilly, including Senior Director of Synthetic Molecule CMC Sourcing and Global Sourcing Manager, where they led various initiatives to optimize sourcing strategies. They hold a B.S. in Chemistry from the University of Notre Dame and an Executive Certificate in the Business of Life Science from the Indiana University Kelley School of Business. Additionally, Michael began their career as a Chemist at Dow AgroSciences, specializing in radiochemistry and synthesis.
