Mike Prothero

Mike Prothero, PE, possesses extensive experience in process engineering and project management within the biopharmaceutical sector. Currently serving as an Advisor for Process Engineering at Eli Lilly and Company since September 2003, Mike leads efforts in commercial and clinical biopharmaceutical production, focusing on upstream cell culture processes. Prior to this role, Mike worked at Amersham Biosciences (now Cytiva) as a Project/Process Engineer, where responsibilities included the design and testing of purification equipment. Mike's earlier positions include Project Engineer at New Brunswick Scientific, where custom bioreactor design and ASME pressure vessel calculations were key activities, a Technical Service Engineer at Nissei America, Inc., and an Engineer at Foster Wheeler, specializing in combustion equipment for power plants. Mike holds a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Bucknell University and Rutgers University, respectively.
