Rachel Chambers

Rachel Chambers is an Advisor in Medicinal Chemistry at Eli Lilly and Company, having transitioned into this role in 2023 after completing a PhD in Organic Chemistry at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. With four years of experience as a synthetic organic chemist, Rachel developed methodologies for remote C(sp3)—H oxidation during their graduate studies, and participated in various research roles, including developing a new anti-malarial drug at the Walter and Eliza Hall Institute of Medical Research. Earlier in their academic journey, Rachel earned an International Bachelor of Science in Chemistry with High Distinction from the University of Wollongong, where they also served as a laboratory demonstrator and science mentor.
