Toya Scaggs

Toya Scaggs, Ph.D., serves as the Scientific Lead for Medicinal Chemistry at Eli Lilly and Company. Previously, Toya was a Staff Scientist at the Molecular Design and Synthesis Center - Vanderbilt Institute for Chemical Biology, where they contributed to the development of WDR5 and Mcl-1 inhibitors. Toya also held positions as a Senior Scientist at Cogent Biosciences, a Research Scientist I at AMRI, and a Chemist at Lancaster Laboratories. Their academic journey includes a role as a Graduate Research Assistant at Indiana University Bloomington, focusing on synthetic frameworks, and an Associate Instructor position there.
