Els Celens

Els Celens has extensive experience in the energy sector, particularly with Elia, where roles have included Teamlead Controlling since 2008, overseeing financial control of budgets for infrastructure and assets aligned with strategic goals. As Project Manager for the Alegro project, Els was responsible for a pioneering HVDC link between Belgium and Germany, managing negotiations with international contractors to ensure timely and budget-conscious delivery. Additionally, as Team Leader for Powerlinks, leadership included a diverse team of 30, ensuring successful execution of projects related to overhead lines, underground cables, and fiber optics. Prior to Elia, Els served as Expert Governance for New Assets and as Project Leader at Tractebel Energy Engineering, focusing on overhead lines and underground links. Academic credentials include dual Master of Engineering degrees in Energy and Electromechanical Engineering from KU Leuven - De Nayer Campus.
