Jonathan Sprooten is an experienced professional in power system planning and operation, currently serving as the Head of Power System Planning at Elia since September 2016. Prior to this role, Jonathan held positions as Senior Expert in Power System Operation and Security at ELIA GRID INTERNATIONAL from April 2014 to September 2016 and as Senior Expert in Network Security Assessment at Elia from May 2011 to January 2016. Jonathan also has an academic background, having worked as a lecturer-researcher at Hautes Etudes d'Ingénieur from October 2007 to May 2011 and as a teaching assistant-researcher at Université Libre de Bruxelles from September 2001 to September 2007. Jonathan holds a PhD in electrical engineering and an engineering degree in electrical engineering and industrial processes, both from Université Libre de Bruxelles.
