Stijn de Sutter

Stijn De Sutter possesses extensive experience in the energy sector, particularly with Elia, where tenure began in September 2008 as a Program Manager, overseeing significant infrastructure investment programs exceeding 500 million EUR. Key projects include the Ventilus and Boucle du Hainaut corridors, along with various initiatives for grid reinforcement and power plant connections. Stijn also served as Head of Power System Planning, leading engineers in power system analysis and developing investment criteria. Additionally, a role as Project Portfolio Manager involved scoping and justifying internal grid projects and interconnections with neighboring countries. Stijn represented Belgium in CIGRE's System Development & Economics group from 2016 to 2022. Educational qualifications include a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Katholieke Hogeschool 'Sint-Lieven' and a brief program at Vlerick Business School.
