Wouter Marien

Wouter Marien is an accomplished Information Technology Architect with extensive experience in digital transformation, IT strategy, GDPR, and data governance. Currently employed at Elia since May 2021, Wouter previously held multiple leadership roles at bpost from December 2016 to May 2021, including Head of ICT Delivery for Parcels & Logistics in Europe and Asia, as well as Head of Digital Architecture and ICT Enterprise Architect. Wouter's career began at Belgacom (now Proximus) from August 2000 to November 2016, where architectural contributions included the selection and integration of OAUTH technology, development of an advanced identity access management landscape, and collaboration on the Belgian Mobile ID 'Itsme' initiative. Wouter’s academic foundation includes a Master’s degree in Electronics - ICT from KU Leuven - De Nayer Campus, obtained between 1996 and 2000.
