Bengt Persson

Bengt Persson is a Professor of Bioinformatics at SciLifeLab, Uppsala University, and serves as the Director of the National Bioinformatics Infrastructure Sweden (NBIS). They held the position of Professor of Bioinformatics at Linkoping University and Karolinska Institutet from 2002 to 2013, and have been the Head of Node at ELIXIR-SE since 2013. Additionally, Bengt served as Director of the National Supercomputer Centre from 2008 to 2012 and has been a faculty member at Karolinska Institutet since 1999. Bengt earned their M.D. from Karolinska Institutet between 1981 and 1986.
