Juan Arenas Márquez

Juan Arenas Márquez is currently the Head of Project Management Unit at ELIXIR. Prior to this, they worked as a Portfolio Manager at the University of Sheffield from December 2012 to February 2017. There, they were responsible for CISTIB EU & UK Project Portfolio Management and Business Development. Juan also worked as the CTO of CISTIB at Universitat Pompeu Fabra from December 2011 to October 2012. At CISTIB, they led a team of 13 people in developing new software for research, patient screening, diagnosis and intervention as well as developing medical devices across a number of national and European competitive funded Research projects.

Juan Arenas Márquez has a Master of Business Administration - MBA from Executive Masters RItrain - EMMRI and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from Universidad de Málaga. Juan also has certification from ICO International Certification Organization in ITEMO FitSM Foundation and from Project Management Institute in PMP. Lastly, they have certification from Scrum Alliance in CSM.
