ElLemuel, a minority-led nonprofit organization with a focus on service, operates as a federally incorporated entity in Ontario. Founded on August 1, 2023, by Wendi Felician, the organization emerged to address the pressing and consistent housing needs expressed by her clients. Despite their hard work, these individuals struggle with high rent costs, often consuming up to 90% of their income. The demand was significant before COVID, but post-pandemic, it became more challenging. Feeling a compelling call to action, Wendi,  following deliberate introspection and prayerful consideration, decided to allocate a portion of the proceeds from the sale of her home  to initiate the mission. With the support of family, friends, and ElLemuel’s founding board of directors, the vision of providing affordable housing for low to middle income individuals, families and seniors is now on the path to realization.
