Chris Abel is the Chief Felony Prosecutor at the Ellis County District Attorney’s Office, a position they have held since 2025. Previously, Chris served as a District Court Magistrate Judge for the State of Texas from 2023 to 2025 and as a Municipal Court Judge for the cities of Denton, Corinth, and Godley, Texas during the same period. They were an Attorney At Law from 2004 to 2023 and also taught as an Adjunct Professor of Law at the University of North Texas School of Hospitality Management from 2008 to 2015. Chris earned a Bachelor of Arts in History from Austin College and a Doctor of Law from Baylor University School of Law.
