Cathal Dee has a diverse background in engineering and fabrication, with significant experience in the marine and construction sectors. From May 2022 to April 2025, Cathal worked as a Fabricator at Meridian Marine Industries Inc., focusing on the repair and reinforcement of structural components of ships and fabricating outfitting modules for new shipbuilding projects. Prior to this, Cathal was a Framer at Birchwood Homes Ltd., involved in the renovation of heritage homes. Cathal also gained experience as a Relief Dairy Milker and Farm Labourer at Waterford FRS and served as a Lifeguard for Waterford City & County Council. Additionally, during an undergraduate engineering placement at Jaguar Land Rover UK, Cathal gained practical experience in the automotive industry. Currently, Cathal holds the position of Mechanical Designer at Elomatic, contributing to the Polar icebreaker project at Seaspan ULC. Educationally, Cathal earned a Master of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Limerick.
