Athanasios Michalakopoulos

Athanasios Michalakopoulos is an experienced IT professional and researcher with a diverse background spanning over a decade. Currently serving as the Manager of IT Services at ELPEDISON S.A. since August 2024, Athanasios oversees technology operations and digital project management. Athanasios has also held a significant role as a Researcher at NTUA since March 2011, advancing research in hydrodynamic machines and installations. Prior to ELPEDISON, Athanasios managed IT services at SOPHiA GENETICS, where responsibilities included overseeing IT operations for multiple global sites and ensuring compliance with ITGC SOX standards. Athanasios has a robust history with Aegean Airlines, where strategic initiatives in CRM and business intelligence were executed to enhance sales processes. Athanasios holds a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering and has additional expertise in project management, technical consulting, and education in aviation engineering.
