Max Mankin

Max Mankin is an accomplished leader in hard tech commercialization and scaling. They served as a Co-Founder and CTO of Modern Hydrogen from 2021 to 2025, driving product development and engineering for onsite hydrogen production solutions while building relationships with various stakeholders. Mankin previously worked as an Entrepreneur in Residence at Intellectual Ventures, where they incubated Modern Hydrogen and developed the company's initial strategy and funding. They hold a Ph.D. in Chemistry from Harvard University, where they published multiple research papers in materials science and physical chemistry. Mankin also gained early experience as a software engineer intern at Carbon Design Systems and as an undergraduate research assistant in materials chemistry at Brown University.
