• Christian Place of Worship - the ongoing pattern of Morning Prayer, Holy Communion and Evensong is at the heart of life at the Cathedral.

• Learning -  a unique educational resource. Around ten thousand school children visit the Cathedral every year. For young people, we offer a variety of experiences and activities that support and enrich the National Curriculum

• Centre of Musical excellence - offered first and foremost as an expression of worship. Since the days of King Canute (c. 1000) music has played an important role in the on-going life of the Cathedral.
