Shayla Schalm is a highly experienced Senior Animator, currently working at Ember Lab since November 2022. Previously, Shayla held the position of Senior Animator at Moving Picture Company from June 2021 to October 2022, contributing to projects such as "Sonic the Hedgehog 2" and an unannounced project. Prior animation experience includes a role at Industrial Light & Magic, where Shayla worked on "Jurassic World: Dominion," and a tenure at Ember Lab as an Animator for "Kena: Bridge of Spirits." Shayla's career at Moving Picture Company also involved significant contributions as a Creature & Character Animator on various major films, including "Lady & the Tramp" (2019) and "The Lion King" (2019), among others. Educational credentials include a Diploma in 3D Character Animation from Vancouver Institute of Media Arts and high school education from Okanagan Mission Secondary.
