James Barlow

Interim Resource Development Events Coordinator

James Barlow is currently the Interim Resource Development Events Coordinator at the European Molecular Biology Laboratory (EMBL) in Heidelberg, Germany, where they have been involved in enhancing connections with foundations and companies since joining as an Intern in September 2023. Following their role as an Assistant starting in March 2024, they focus on planning EMBL’s fundraising events. James graduated from the University of Glasgow in November 2023 with a Master’s degree in International Relations and previously earned a First Class Honours undergraduate degree in Politics. During their studies, they participated in a Study Abroad Programme at the University of Connecticut, volunteering for the Neighbour Fund to assist refugees. From 2018 to 2022, James served as Secretary of the Glasgow European Society, coordinating academic events and speaker engagements on pressing social issues.
