Michael Milne is an accomplished senior leader with extensive experience in tertiary sector research and education management, as well as government policy. They have held various roles, including Chief Operating Officer at the Brain and Mind Research Institute and the Charles Perkins Centre, and have served as Executive Director at the Centre in China. Michael is set to begin their role as Chief Operating Officer at EMBL in May 2025. They possess strong expertise in strategy development, sustainable leadership, and building strategic partnerships, complemented by a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in History, Philosophy, and Politics and a postgraduate diploma in Chinese (Mandarin) from La Trobe University.
