Sameer Velankar

Sameer Velankar is a Senior Scientist at EMBL since July 2023, and has been with the European Bioinformatics Institute | EMBL-EBI since March 2000, where positions include Head of Section, Team Leader for the Protein Data Bank in Europe, and Project Coordinator. Prior experience includes serving as a Scientific Officer at wwPDB from 2000 to 2009. Sameer Velankar holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Structural Biology from the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) obtained between 1992 and 1997, an MSc in Physics from Savitribai Phule Pune University completed in 1992, a BSc in Physics from Abasaheb Garware College, Pune, finished in 1990, and foundational education at Jnana Prabodhini, Pune, completed in 1985.
