Sinem Saka

Sinem Saka is a distinguished scientist with extensive experience in molecular biology and biotechnological innovation. Currently serving as a Group Leader at EMBL since December 2020 and as a Scientific Co-Founder at Digital Biology, Inc. since February 2022, Sinem has a rich background that includes a postdoctoral position at the Wyss Institute for Biologically Inspired Engineering, Harvard University, where research focused on DNA nanotechnology for advanced imaging. Sinem has also held roles in business development at Harvard University, where participation in the Bench-to-Business Bootcamp facilitated training in commercialization strategies. Previous experiences include leading consulting initiatives and postdoctoral research at the University of Göttingen, contributing to the development of novel affinity probes and overseeing student projects. Sinem holds a PhD in Molecular Biology from the University of Göttingen and additional degrees from the International Max Planck Research School and Middle East Technical University.
