Thomas Weber is currently an ARISE fellow at the Data Science Centre of EMBL, having joined in March 2022, following a role as a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Korbel Group. Prior experience includes serving as an Ingénieur d’études at ICube Strasbourg and completing a PhD in Bioinformatics with a focus on genetic variation assessment at the Université de Strasbourg from October 2018 to December 2021, where the thesis addressed bioinformatic applications to human diseases. Additional experience includes internships at Université de Strasbourg, focusing on NGS human data analysis for structural variations, and CNRS, which involved de novo bacterial genome assembly. Thomas Weber holds a Master’s degree in Structural Biology and Bioinformatics and a Bachelor's degree in Biology and Chemistry from the University of Strasbourg, along with previous academic qualifications in environmental engineering and pollution treatment from other institutions.
