Manuel Dangel is a Motion Planning Software Engineer at embotech AG since March 2018, specializing in optimization-based motion planning and controls for autonomous vehicles while serving as tech lead for structured motion planning and project lead for customer integration projects across three continents. Previously, Manuel held the position of Technical Lead Driverless at Akademischer Motorsportverein Zürich, where a fully autonomous race car was developed and won the first Formula Student Driverless Competition. Manuel was also a core member of the Zürich team in the Formula Student Electric competition, contributing to a first-place finish in the global rankings during the 2014/2015 season. An internship at thyssenkrupp Presta AG involved vehicle dynamics engineering focused on steer-by-wire systems, alongside experience as an undergraduate teaching assistant at ETH Zurich and military service as a Sergeant Infantry Scout. Manuel holds a Master's Degree in Mechatronics, Robotics, and Automation Engineering and a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from ETH Zürich.
