Motion Planning Engineer at Embotech

Mats Steinweg is a Motion Planning Engineer at embotech since June 2021, contributing to the development of ProDriver, an optimization-based motion planner for various ground vehicles in unstructured environments. Previously, Mats held roles as a Software Development Intern at embotech, focusing on communication protocols for safety-critical systems, and as a Master Thesis Student at the University of Zurich, developing a reinforcement learning motion planning algorithm for drones, co-authoring a paper presented at IROS 2021. Mats also gained research experience as a Graduate Research Assistant at RWTH Aachen University, working on self-supervised person detection, and served as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at KTH Royal Institute of Technology, where educational tools for robot localization were developed. Mats holds multiple Master of Science degrees in Systems, Control and Robotics from KTH Royal Institute of Technology and Systems and Automation from RWTH Aachen University, alongside a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from RWTH Aachen University.
