Carla Macario is a distinguished computer scientist and researcher with extensive experience at the Brazilian Agricultural Research Corporation (Embrapa) since 1989, focusing on geographical databases, eScience, and research data management. Currently serving as a Professor at Pontifícia Universidade Católica de Campinas since March 2023, Carla previously held the position of Head of Research and Development at Embrapa Digital Agriculture from September 2021 to March 2024, having been the substitute from August 2018 to August 2021. Carla’s educational credentials include a Doctor's Degree in Computer Science and a Master's Degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Universidade Estadual de Campinas, along with a Bachelor of Technology in Computer Science from Universidade de Brasília, and currently pursuing an Executive MBA in Leadership and Innovation at FGV - Fundação Getulio Vargas.
