Ivan Cruz is a researcher at the Brazilian Agricultural Research Corporation (Embrapa) and a professor at UNIFEMM - Sete Lagoas University Center. They have been with Embrapa since 1974, focusing on integrated pest management with an emphasis on biological control. Ivan completed a master's degree at Purdue University in 1980 and earned a doctorate at ESALQ/USP in 1986. They have received numerous accolades, including the "Comenda Dr. Bernardo Alves Costa" in 1997 and the "Cidadania Honorária" in 2011 for their contributions to the development of Sete Lagoas. Ivan has also served as the editor-in-chief of the Brazilian Journal of Corn and Sorghum and participated in international projects, including Cotton 4 in Mali and Prosavanas in Mozambique.
