Alan Young

Alan Young has over 20 years of experience in supply chain management and materials management. Currently, they are working as the Sr. Director of Supply Chain at EMCORE Corporation. Previously, they held positions such as Supply Chain Director at Arrowhead Products, Supply Chain Manager at Esterline Palomar Products, and Materials Manager at Esterline Engineered Materials. Alan also worked as the Director of Engineering, Estimating, Contracts, and Planning at Coast Sign Inc and as the Materials/Planning/Facilities Manager at Greenlee/Tempo. Alan began their career as an Estimating, Planning, Program Manager, and Environmental Compliance Officer at Vista Industrial Products Inc. Alan has a strong background in procurement, logistics, warehouse management, inventory control, and strategic sourcing. Alan has experience working in AS9100 certified organizations and has led multiple global sourcing events and continuous improvement projects. Alan has expertise in meeting specific requirements for commercial, ITAR, and space customers.

Alan Young completed their education with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and Management from the University of California, Riverside. This was achieved between 1984 and 1986. In 2011 to 2012, they attended the University of Phoenix to pursue their Master of Business Administration degree with a specialization in Technology Management. Additionally, Alan obtained a certification as a Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) from ASCM Inland Empire Chapter in December 2016.
