Jim Freer

Jim Freer has extensive experience in the engineering field, primarily focused on optical and RF technologies. Currently serving as an Engineering Technician CATV at Emcore since August 2012, Jim supports optical transmitter evaluations and oversees new product training and production transfers to China. Prior to this role, Jim worked at Motorola Mobility as an Optical Headend Engineering Specialist, completing thorough testing of Broadband RF/Optical HFC Networks, and served in various engineering capacities at Motorola and General Instrument. Key responsibilities included reliability testing, environmental evaluations, and alignment of RF/Optical network products. Jim holds a Certificate in Digital Computer Electronics from Lyons Technical Institute and pursued a BSEE at Drexel University.
