Steve Durham has over 25 years of work experience in the software engineering field. Steve began their career in 1993 as a Software Engineer at McMaster-Carr. In 1995, they joined Parian Development Group Inc. as a Senior Systems Engineer, where they wrote two hardware-related drivers as a low-level interface to the PCI bus in Windows 95. In 1996, they worked as a Software Engineer (contractor) at Intel Corporation, where they optimized Pentium and Pentium MMX assembly code for Intel's Realistic Sound Experience library. In 1997, they worked as an Independent Software Engineer, where they designed and developed CTI prototypes for a consulting firm. Steve then worked as a Consultant at First Consulting Group in 1998, where they drafted an Intranet Application Architecture for a large HMO and developed a paging and concern resolution tracking application for a 400 agent call center of a major medical provider. Later that year, they joined iOwn.com as a Senior Software Engineer. From 2000 to 2014, they worked at OpenTable as a Principal Software Engineer, where they were the chief designer and developer of the in-restaurant software and managed many of the internal development systems. From 2014 to 2017, they worked at Acrospire Financial Technology LLC as a Principal Software Engineer & Partner, where they were involved in full stack development and worked with various technologies, such as Google Cloud Platform, Kubernetes & docker, Javascript, Clojurescript, ES6, Python, Chrome, linux, MongoDB, Postgres, Sql Server, Angular, React, Redux, Reframe, reagent, redux-saga, GoJS, jstree, and Ace editor. Steve then joined Emerald Cloud Lab in 2017 as a Principal Software Engineer, where they were involved in React, Redux, Redux-Saga, and nw.js, and was busy replacing Backbone+Marionette.
Steve Durham obtained a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, focused on computer design, from the United States Military Academy at West Point between 1986 and 1990. In 1988, they also attended the US Coast Guard Academy as an exchange cadet for the fall semester.
