Senior EMT Instructor at Emergency Care Programs

Gary Hecker is a dedicated healthcare professional with extensive experience in trauma education and emergency medical response. Currently serving as the Trauma Injury Prevention, Education, Outreach Coordinator at Jacobi Medical Center since April 2022, Gary is responsible for community outreach and developing trauma-related educational programs. In addition, Gary has been a Supervisory RN and Intermittent Disaster Employee with the National Disaster Medical System since February 2004, providing medical care during disasters. Gary also holds a position as a Senior EMT Instructor with Emergency Care Programs and previously served as the Associate Director/Lead Trainer for the Special Pathogens Program at Bellevue Hospital. Other past roles include Assistant Director of Nursing for ER & ICU Education at Metropolitan Hospital and Education Coordinator at Kingsbrook Jewish Medical Center. Gary earned a BSN in Nursing from the State University of New York Downstate Medical Center between 1989 and 1991.
