James Sergeant

James Sergeant has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. James is currently working at Emesent as a Senior Software Engineer, where they have been since January 2023. Prior to this, they were a Software Engineer at Emesent from November 2021 to January 2023.

James has also worked at Dorabot as a Computer Vision Tech Lead / Robotic Software Engineer from March 2020 to November 2021, and as a Robotic Software Engineer from September 2018 to March 2020.

Before joining Dorabot, James worked at QUT (Queensland University of Technology) in multiple roles. James was a Research Assistant from October 2017 to August 2018, Robot Academy Development Officer from June 2017 to August 2018, and a Sessional Academic from January 2015 to August 2018. James Sergeant completed their education in a chronological order. James started their academic journey at Griffith University from 2001 to 2007, earning a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree with a focus on Chemistry and Mathematics. James then pursued their interest in Mechatronics, Robotics, and Automation Engineering at QUT (Queensland University of Technology), where they obtained a Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) degree from 2011 to 2015. To enhance their knowledge further, James engaged in an exchange study program at the University of Leeds from 2013 to 2014, focused on their Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) degree in Mechatronics, Robotics, and Automation Engineering. Lastly, James pursued higher education by completing a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Mechatronics, Robotics, and Automation Engineering at QUT from 2016 to 2017.
