Jeremy Sofonia

Jeremy Sofonia, PhD, currently serves as a Global Solutions Specialist at Emesent, a position held since October 2018. Previously, Jeremy was a PhD Candidate at The University of Queensland from July 2015 to October 2019, where research focused on UAV LiDAR acquisition and data processing techniques in various fields, including coastal marine habitats and agricultural landscapes. Prior to this, Jeremy was a PhD Student at CSIRO, conducting performance examinations of the 'Hovermap' UAV LiDAR system. Earlier in the career, Jeremy held roles as a Geoscientist and Chief Remote Pilot at Sofonia Pty Ltd and as Principal of Ecology & Marine Science at GHD, along with a position as a Senior Marine & Environmental Scientist at SKM Pty Ltd. Educational qualifications include a PhD in Geosciences/Remote Sensing from The University of Queensland and a Master of Science in Marine Biology, among other degrees from James Cook University and the University of Florida.
