Liam Cheung

Liam Cheung has extensive work experience in various roles and industries. Liam founded and served as the Director of VC Investments at Tactico Inc. since March 2007. Liam also held the position of Director at Emma, helloDarwin, Mogo, and Willful, starting from 2022, 2021, 2021, and 2020 respectively. In addition, they were the Managing General Partner at Pointus Partners since 2008. Liam served as the Executive Chairman at Mylo Financial Technologies from 2017 to 2021. Liam held multiple positions including Chief Executive Officer, Chief Compliance Officer, and Portfolio Manager at Tactex Asset Management Inc. from 2011 to 2021. Moreover, they worked as a Portfolio Manager at Tactex F1 Private Equity Fund LP from 2012 to 2020. Lastly, they worked as a Course Lecturer in the Department of Economics at McGill University from 2012 to 2014.

Liam Cheung obtained a Bachelor of Mathematics in Actuarial Science from the University of Waterloo from 1988 to 1991. Liam then pursued a Master of Science in Banking and Financial Services from Boston University from 2004 to 2005. Following this, Liam completed their PhD in Economics at McGill University from 2008 to 2014. Additionally, Liam has obtained several certifications throughout their career. Liam became an Associate of the Society of Actuaries (ASA) in November 1992, achieved the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charterholder designation in September 2001 from the CFA Institute, and obtained certifications as a Portfolio Manager, UDP, and CCO from the AMF and OSC in 2018.
