Bart Hansen is the Algemeen directeur jeugdzorg at Emmaüs, a position held since 2016. They have also served as an ethicist and held various leadership roles within jeugdzorg, including Algemeen directeur at Emmaüs Mechelen and CKG Betlehem, and Pedagogisch directeur at Jeugdzorg Emmaus Mechelen. In addition to their administrative work, Hansen is a professor at the Centre for Biomedical Ethics and Law at K.U. Leuven, where they have been teaching since 2009. Hansen earned their Doctor of Philosophy in Theology and Religious Vocations from K.U. Leuven in 2000.
