Alan Maynard, CSI, is an experienced post-production professional and educator currently serving as an Adjunct Instructor at UNC Hussman School of Journalism and Media since January 2025. With a distinguished tenure at Trailblazer Studios beginning in June 2011, Maynard holds roles as Post Production Manager and Editor/Colorist, specializing in finishing, color correction, and preparation of deliverables for various media formats. Maynard has been an active member of the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences since January 2017, participating in peer groups focused on Lighting, Camera, and Technical Arts as well as Reality Programming. Previous experience includes video editing for the University of North Carolina Wilmington's Department of Housing and Residence Life and work as a Video Editor for the Athens Drive Arts Foundation, where promotional videos were produced for fundraising efforts. Maynard's academic background includes a Master’s degree in Technology and Communication, Journalism from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a Bachelor’s degree in Film Studies and Spanish from the University of North Carolina Wilmington.

The Academy of Television Arts & Sciences was founded in 1946 — just one month after network television was born. It is a nonprofit organization devoted to the advancement of telecommunication arts and sciences and to fostering creative leadership in the telecommunication industry. The Television Academy, the only major organization devoted to the television and broadband screen entertainment industry, is made up of over 19,000 members, representing 29 professional peer groups, including performers, directors, producers, art directors and various other artisans, technicians and executives.
