Aaron J. Horowitz has a diverse work experience that spans various industries and roles. Aaron J. is currently the Founder & CEO of Empath Labs, where they combine empathy-driven design with robotics, data capture, and game design to improve patient experiences. Prior to this, they worked as an Impact Advisor at Honda Research Institute Europe GmbH. Before that, Aaron co-founded and served as CEO of Sproutel, a company focused on creating products that have a positive impact on patients' lives. Additionally, they have served as a Board Member at the Jewish Community Day School of Rhode Island and as a National Board Advisor at Design for America. Aaron also worked as a Semi-Finalist Fellow at the Dell Social Innovation Competition, where they developed an interactive teddy bear for children with diabetes. Aaron J. started their career as a Summer Fellow at Design for America, where they applied the design thinking process to develop a social gaming model for charity. Prior to that, Aaron worked as a Manager, Smoothologist at The Juice, where they managed communication and trained new employees.
Aaron J. Horowitz began their education in 2008 at Rice University, where they pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering. Aaron J. attended Rice University until 2009. Afterward, they transferred to Northwestern University, where they studied Mechatronics and User Interaction Design. At Northwestern University, they completed their Bachelor of Science degree in this field of study in 2012.
