Ilana Simckes

Ilana Simckes has been working in the social services field for the past three years. In 2021, they began working as a Care Manager for Empathy. In 2020, they were an Operations and Logistics Manager for Israel Connect, where they trained new incoming volunteers and students, coordinated Schedules and Projects between Students and Tutors, managed in real time ongoing tutoring sessions for over 600 volunteers and students, and answered email and phone inquiries. In 2018, Ilana was an Office Administrator for Friendship Circle of Central Jerusalem, where they were responsible for logistics and event planning for the organizations monthly events, bookkeeping, social media marketing, responding to emails, phone calls, etc. Additionally, they managed the 'Friends at Home' program, which had teenage volunteers spend quality time with a child/teen with special needs. Also in 2018, Ilana was a Chapter Coordinator for Emunah, where they cared for and liaised with hundreds of volunteers, helping support hundreds of Olim from a variety of backgrounds and cultures.

Ilana Simckes obtained their degree in Educational Counselling from Bar-Ilan University in 2018. In 2019, they obtained certification as a Certified Cognitive-Behavioral Therapist (CBT) from the Yanar Institute.
