MacIej Tomaszewski

Maciej Tomaszewski has extensive experience in the legal field, with a focus on intellectual property (IP), media law, and corporate law. Maciej has worked for various companies and law firms, handling a wide range of legal responsibilities. At Empik Group, they served as the Digital Content Legal Director, drafting and negotiating agreements with content providers and providing legal support for music streaming platforms. Prior to that, they were the Head of Legal Department at PWN - Polish Scientific Publishers, where they proactively managed the company's legal operations and IP portfolio. Maciej also worked as a Legal Counsel at T-Mobile Polska, where they handled contractual agreements and provided legal assistance in IP, marketing, and unfair competition cases. Additionally, they were an Equity Partner at C.R.O.P.A., a TMT, IP & Sports law firm, and gained experience as an in-house lawyer at Eurorent sp. z o.o. Maciej Tomaszewski started their legal career in PricewaterhouseCoopers, where they served as a Consultant and later as a Junior Associate/Associate, specializing in IP law, corporate law, and tax law.

Maciej Tomaszewski's education history includes various degree programs and post-graduate courses. In 2000, they obtained a Master's degree from Europejska Wyższa Szkoła Prawa i Administracji w Warszawie, with a focus on the topic of their MA Paper, which was "The decriminalization of defamation and insult – an international standard." From 2003 to 2008, they attended the University of Warsaw, studying at The Institute of Journalism of the Faculty of Journalism and Political Sciences, with a specialization in PR and marketing. Following this, from 2010 to 2013, they pursued a degree in Legal Counsel at the Warsaw Bar Association. In 2013 and 2014, they underwent a post-graduate Studium of Intellectual Property Law at the Faculty of Law and Administration at the University of Warsaw. Maciej then completed a Postgraduate Studium on New Technologies Law at Kozminski University from 2015 to 2016. In 2017 and 2018, Maciej Tomaszewski attended the University of Warsaw's El Centro de la Ley Española / Centrum Prawa Hiszpańskiego. Most recently, in 2020, they participated in the IT and TMT Law Post-graduate Course at Centrum Praw Własności Intelektualnej im. H. Grocjusza.
