Shawn Olson has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Shawn began their career as a Recruiting Coordinator and Offensive Assistant at the University of Calgary in 2001. Shawn then moved on to become the Head Football Coach, Director of Player Personnel, and Director of Player Development at Raiffeisen Vikings Vienna from 2002 to 2007. After that, they joined Simon Fraser University as the Offensive Coordinator and Recruiting Coordinator from 2007 to 2010. Shawn further excelled in their career at The University of British Columbia, where they served as the Head Football Coach and General Manager. During their tenure, they achieved numerous accomplishments, including formalizing the UBC Football Hall of Fame, developing CFL players and major CIS award winners, and leading the team to their best record in 12 years. Additionally, they significantly increased annual fundraising and spearheaded initiatives to improve the UBC football facilities. Following this, they worked at Freedom 55 Financial as the Director of Advisor Recruiting and later as the Director of Regional Recruiting for Western Canada. At this company, they focused on sourcing, recruiting, and selecting new financial advisors, earning recognition for their excellence in the field. Most recently, Shawn Olson has taken on the role of VP Business Development at Empowered Startups Ltd., where they are responsible for building relationships and developing business opportunities for the company's ventures worldwide.

Shawn Olson attended Kwantlen Polytechnic University from 1993 to 1995, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in an Unclassified field of study. Shawn then continued their education at The University of British Columbia from 1996 to 2000 and obtained a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in English and History.
