Sam Dundon started their work experience at Aflac in 2008 as a Governmental Affairs Specialist. From 2010 to 2013, they served as the Associate Director of Programs at The Maureen and Mike Mansfield Foundation. Returning to Aflac, they held the position of Chief of Staff, Office of the Chief Transformation Officer from 2015 to 2020, and then worked as a Senior Consultant, Global Security until 2022. Currently, Sam is the Head Information Security Officer at Empowered Systems.
Sam Dundon has a diverse education history. They attended The University of Tokyo from 2013 to 2015, where they obtained a Master of Public Policy degree. During the same period, they also studied at the Hertie School of Governance, earning another Master of Public Policy degree. Prior to their time in Tokyo, Sam attended American University from 2004 to 2008, earning a BA degree in Political Science and International Studies. They also studied at Ritsumeikan University from 2006 to 2007, focusing on Japanese and International Studies.
In addition to their academic qualifications, Sam has obtained several certifications. They achieved the Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) certification from ISACA in August 2019. In April 2019, they became a Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) through Scrum Alliance. Furthermore, in October 2017, Sam completed a Data Science and Data Engineering Bootcamp, earning a Certificate of Completion from Data Science Dojo.
