David Barton is an Independent Regulatory Consultant and an Adjunct Associate Professor at University College Dublin since 2009. They established and developed the NHS Molecular Genetics Laboratory from 1988 to 1995 and served as Chief Scientist at the National Centre for Medical Genetics until 2018. David has also held positions as a Postdoctoral Fellow at Yale University School of Medicine and as a Partner in the EuroGentest Network, focusing on policy and regulation in genetic testing. Presently, David serves as the Chair of the Management Group for the European Molecular Genetics Quality Network.
