Damola Tolani

Damola Tolani has over 16 years of professional experience in operations, information technology, and corporate shared services. In 2022, they began working as a Senior Internal Operations Manager at EMTECH, where they are responsible for defining operational management objectives and strategies, developing and maintaining an internal controls management system, and selecting and implementing suitable technology to automate all internal operations.

Prior to this, they worked at Appzonegroup from 2013 to 2022, where they held three roles, including Chief Information Officer, Head of Corporate Shared Services, and Head of Operational Excellence. In these roles, they managed teams of over 20, 18, and 3 personnel respectively, and was responsible for organizational transformation initiatives, process improvement & automation, IT strategy, technology advisory, selecting and implementing suitable technology, leading strategies and appropriate policies, tools and techniques, and establishing and maintaining policies and procedures.

From 2012 to 2013, they were the Head of Application Support and Quality Assurance at Concept Nova, managing a team of 3 personnel and providing QA services and coordinating QA resources. From 2009 to 2012, they were a Technical Support Officer at Cards Technology Limited, managing the switch and card management systems, ensuring integrity of data and data processing applications, ensuring a high level of security, managing capacity of production and test application environment, and training end-users on how to use and support new software systems.

Finally, from 2006 to 2009, they were a Hardware and Maintenance Supervisor/ Database Analyst at the Ministry of Special Duties, assisting in the collation of data for databases, being a member of the project assessment and evaluation team, initiating the organization's computerization project, and providing corporate I.

Damola Tolani has a diverse educational background. In 2000, they earned a BSc. in Computer Science from the University of Abuja. In 2007, they completed a course in Oracle Database Administration from NIIT/ Oracle University and earned a Master’s Degree in Computer Science from the University of Ibadan in 2009. In 2011, they completed a Project Management Professional (PMP) course from First Logic and earned certifications from Oracle, EXIN, ISTQB, and Chicago Institute of Business. In 2015, they earned a Doctor of Philosophy - PhD in Information Systems from the University of South Africa/Universiteit van Suid-Afrika.
