Atul Bhatia has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Atul began their career as a Trainee at Pearl Appliences in 1997.
In 1998, Bhatia joined Bharti Airtel Limited, where they held various roles including Executive Customer Service, Manager Service Recovery, DGM Service Marketing, and GM Collection & Retention, managing national operations and leading projects in customer experience and prevention approaches.
In 2010, Bhatia moved to Bharti Airtel International (Netherlands) B.V. and served as the VP of High Value Customer Experience for Airtel Africa operations. Atul successfully launched and implemented the Airtel Premier Brand, focusing on the retention of prepaid high-value customers.
From 2015 to 2017, Bhatia worked as the Head of Efficiency Enhancement & Opex Optimization at Airtel Africa Operations.
In 2017, Bhatia joined Emtel as the Chief Customer Care Officer, responsible for customer experience for B2C and B2B segments. Atul achieved significant improvements in self-care adoption and customer satisfaction through process design changes and digital channel strategies.
Later, Bhatia took on the role of Head of PMO and Customer Experience at Emtel, driving the company's transformation from a Telco to Techco. Atul successfully launched the mobile payment app "blink" and spearheaded the rollout of 5G home broadband.
Finally, Bhatia became the Chief Fintech Officer at Emtel in 2023, leading fintech strategy and operations. Under their leadership, the "blink" app gained $30 million in transaction value and established a distribution network of merchants and billers.

Atul Bhatia has a diverse education history that spans several years. In 1995, they attended Delhi University and completed a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Mass Communication/Media Studies. Following this, in 1997, they enrolled at YMCA and obtained a PGD (Post Graduate Diploma) in Mass Communication/Media Studies. Moving forward, in more recent years, Atul pursued further education in the field of business and technology. In 2019, they attended Emeritus and earned a PG Diploma in Design Thinking. Subsequently, in 2020, Atul continued their education at Emeritus and received a PG Diploma in Digital Business. Their most recent educational endeavor took place in 2021 at the National University of Singapore, where they earned a Certification in Fintech- Innovation & Transformation in Financial Services.
