Max Winkelman, Ph.D., currently serves as Scientist III at Emulate, Inc. since June 2023. Prior experience includes a Postdoctoral Research Associate role at Northeastern University from January 2017 to June 2023, where research focused on modeling hereditary hemorrhagic telangiectasia and utilizing CRISPR/Cas9 for genome editing in human embryonic stem cell-derived vascular cells. Max has also acted as a Faculty Advisor for undergraduate design teams and worked as a Graduate Research Assistant, investigating the human neurovascular niche and enhancing human capillary network formation. Previous positions include Graduate Research Assistant at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and Undergraduate Research Assistant roles at the University of Rochester and Westchester Medical Center. Educational background includes a Ph.D. in Bioengineering from Northeastern University, a Master of Engineering in Biomedical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, and a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Rochester.
