Ian Thomas

Ian Thomas is an experienced data and analytics leader currently serving as an Interim/Fractional Chief Data/Analytics Officer at Yew Tree Data Consulting since January 2020, where strategic consulting is provided to enhance clients' data practices. Ian holds multiple advisory roles, including Technology Advisory Community Consultant at Endava and Advisory Board Member at Bridgewater Partners. Previously, Ian was Chief Data Officer at Credera UK, where the data practice was significantly developed, and served as Interim Chief Data Officer at KingMakers, leading data-driven transformations. Ian has extensive experience at Publicis Groupe as Chief Data Officer, and spent over a decade at Microsoft in various senior leadership positions, spearheading data-driven initiatives across major platforms. Ian is a co-founder of WebAbacus, notable for creating one of the first web analytics tools. Ian holds an MA in Electronic & Information Engineering from the University of Cambridge and an MSc in Engineering Science from the University of Oxford.
