Rohit Bhoothalingam

Rohit Bhoothalingam is the current General Counsel at Endava. Prior to this, they worked as Associate General Counsel at VEON from January 2016 to December 2018.

At VEON, Bhoothalingam was hired to lead the governance and ethics transformation agenda for the company. Rohit was responsible for managing the board agenda, governance and process for the Chairman and committee chairmen. Rohit also advised the Board, Group CEO, CFO and senior and operational management on a range of matters including corporate transactions, governance, risk management, compliance and regulatory, commercial contracts and employment.

During their time at VEON, Bhoothalingam successfully implemented a number of governance projects, including a contract governance transformation that resulted in an efficient and effective end-to-end procurement and contracting process with robust systems, automation and controls, and clear accountability. Rohit also led the design and launch of a Group-wide authority matrix which governed all decision-making throughout the VEON Group. In addition, they were part of the core leadership team that designed, developed and integrated VEON’s ethical conduct, governance and compliance programs from scratch to provide appropriate assurance to the Board. This included comprehensive policies, anti-bribery, AML and sanctions breach avoidance programs. Lastly, they oversaw an overhaul of Group policies and procedures from approval at Board level to implementation across the Group, including a framework for continuous improvement.

Rohit Bhoothalingam began their educational career by studying law at the University of Cambridge. Rohit then went on to earn their LLM from Georgetown University Law Center.

They are on a team with Frank Zahn - Delivery Director, Justin Marcucci - Chief Digital Officer, and Adrian Astley-Jones - Sector Head, Private Equity. Their manager is John Cotterall, CEO.
