Sameer Abdi

Sameer Abdi is a seasoned professional in the financial services sector with extensive experience in mergers and acquisitions. Currently serving as the Deals Leader for Financial Services at PwC Middle East since June 2021, Sameer leads a high-performing team through the entire deal lifecycle. Additionally, Sameer holds roles as a Partner at FalconVest Partners and Managing Director at Innovura Partners, where strategic advisory and capital optimization are emphasized. Sameer has also co-founded Aion Digital, which aims to transition traditional banks to digital platforms. Earlier career experiences include a long tenure at EY, where Sameer progressed from a graduate trainee to Lead Partner and Managing Partner roles in Financial Services M&A across the MENA region. Sameer holds a Fellow Chartered Accountant designation from ICAEW, a Leadership Program degree from Harvard University, and a B.Eng (Hons) in Mechanical Engineering from Imperial College London.
