Brian Smith is a Managing Director at S3 Ventures, where they oversee a portfolio exceeding $900 million, focusing on investments in business technology, healthcare technology, and digital experience companies in Texas and the Southwest. With extensive experience in venture capital, Brian has made over 50 startup investments and served on the boards of various organizations, including Gravitant, Phurnace Software, and Acessa Health Inc. Previously, Brian founded and led Crossroads Systems as CEO, transforming it into a successful public company. They hold a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Purdue University and a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Cincinnati.
