Energy for Refugees is a student-driven initiative committed to addressing the issue of energy poverty in refugee camps and communities worldwide. Our non-profit foundation comprises of students from Delft, Leiden, Amsterdam & Utrecht, and we specialize in designing and implementing clean energy projects that provide sustainable and reliable energy sources for those in need. We partner with local communities and organizations by eliciting their expertise and incorporating the opinions of residents into our technology design. 

At Energy for Refugees, we believe that access to clean and affordable energy in a fundamental human right. Energy poverty is a serious issue that affects regions around the world, but particularly affects people in refugee camps. Without access to clean, affordable, and reliable electricity, these communities are unable to power their homes, camps, and schools. Hence, our goal is to alleviate the energy poverty of people seeking asylum and shelter by using sustainable energy technologies. Further, we seek to reduce the dependency of refugees on external parties by providing training to them on how to maintain and operate the system.  

In addition to our focus on providing sustainable energy solutions to refugees, Energy for Refugees is also committed to increasing awareness about the unique challenges faced by refugee communities. We hope to inspire action and support for their well-being.
