Company description and expertise

enetrade,INC. was established in April 2017, as a subsidiary of elDesign, a power consultancy company founded in 2014 by our CEO Kenichi Sakagoshi. JAPEX, Japanese oil & gas company, has minor equity of enetrade. Incorporated in Tokyo, Japan, our core business principle is to create "Power Trading Innovation", and we are committed to meet the needs of power suppliers and retailers. We provide stable power supply, risk management and tailor-made solutions for the sustainable development of the power industry.
Our activity is the trading of domestic physical wholesale power. With no generation asset, we source mostly from the large utilities and trading companies, and supply the retailers and trading companies. We have reached a volume of 1 million kW in the current fiscal.

Until recently, there was no financial derivatives available to allow hedging of our physical exposure, and with TOCOM and soon EEX launching Japan power futures, the company has recruited a range of professional to handle this specific activity.

Namely, our Managing Director Yoshi Arimizu successfully and consecutively traded oil and gas, uranium, coal and copper for 14 years with major firms in Europe and Asia, and was in charge of setting up the trading desk for financial derivatives at enetrade. This is to cater for the power and the related fuels.
Our senior trader Cedric Daubord has 12 years’ experience in the gas & power sector, mostly at Total Gas & Power in London, the trading centre of expertise for this activity in the oil major. 
Our trader Kotaro Hoshino was previously in the brokerage industry, and quants Kairi Takeda built pricing models of financial products with several large securities firms in Japan.
